Welcome Letter

Dear K-red/GS-rouge Families,

Leticia, Barbara, Amy, and I would like to introduce ourselves as four of the parents who will be working with Michel, Melissa, and Stephanie during the 2014-2015 academic year.  Leticia, Amy, and Barbara will be Community Coordinators, and I will be a Room Parent.  We would love to have an additional Room Parent to share these responsibilities; please let us know if you’d like to join the team!  Room Parents assist our teachers with the planning and execution of various school events, such as field trips, lice checks, and classroom celebrations.  Community Coordinators work with the Room Parents to bring families together for events outside the school, such as potlucks, family play dates/picnics, Mom’s/Dad’s/Parents’ Night Outs, and excursions.

The field trip calendar is still in preparation, but to facilitate communication among the families we will be setting up a website (http://faiskred.blogspot.com/).  The RP/CCs will use this as a way to share announcements, sign-ups, photos, and so forth.  It would be easiest to leave this as public to people with the link; however, we can also add a sign in process to access if there are any concerns.  Please reach out.

As soon as the field trip schedule is available, we’ll send out a request for field trip volunteers.  We recognize that many of you have busy schedules, and we will do our best to ask for volunteers as far ahead as possible so that you can fit the class trips into your calendars.

Leticia, Amy, Barbara, and I hope you can join us Friday morning, September 19th, for a coffee after morning drop off at Vinyl Coffee Bar, 359 Divisadero St. at the corner of Oak.  We also hope to see many of you at Back to School Night on Wednesday, September 17 (5:30p, Page MPR).
